I spent years working on other people's projects before deciding to focus on my own. I like the mix of engineering, design and business, and making the decisions that connect them. I have no intention of working for anyone else or building a team. The work itself is the part I enjoy.
I live in Manchester and homeschool my son. Having control over my time leaves room for family, curiosity and interests that have nothing to do with software. I like work being part of my life without it setting the timetable for all of it.
